Application
After we receive your application, we will reach out to schedule a time to talk. We encourage you to make a list of questions so that you feel comfortable with us and our program.
Before proceeding, you will also receive a copy of our Health Guarantee and Sales Contract to review.
Our conversation gives us an opportunity to learn more about your lifestyle, what you are looking for in a companion, and any special considerations you may have. It also helps us determine which upcoming pairing may be the best fit for your family.
2. Reserve Your Puppy
Once your application has been approved, a non-refundable $500 reservation installment is due. This payment is applied toward the $3,500 purchase price of your puppy and is valid for two years from the date received.
You may place your reservation through our payment portal at Good Dog.
When reserving, we ask that you indicate the litter you prefer based on anticipated size, color, and pattern possibilities. We accept a limited number of reservations for each litter, and puppy selection order is based on the order in which reservations are received.
Lucky Country Labradoodles reserves the right to cancel a reservation and refund the reservation installment if we determine that our program is not the right match for a family.
3. Puppies Are Here!
We announce confirmed pregnancies on our website and social media. Once the puppies arrive, we contact families with reservations for that litter and extend a formal litter invitation.
We ask that you be open to all of the colors and patterns possible within your chosen litter. When you accept your litter invitation, the next $1,650 installment is due.
If the timing or litter is not right for you, you may defer to a later litter up to two times for any reason without losing your reservation. Your decision to accept or defer must be made when the formal litter invitation is extended.
Lucky Country Labradoodles always reserves the option to retain up to two puppies from a litter.
4. Follow Your Pup’s Journey Home
Once you accept your litter invitation, you officially become part of our Lucky Dood family!
We keep you involved throughout your puppy’s first weeks with weekly updates, photos, videos, and helpful tips for preparing for your new family member.
When the puppies are approximately six weeks old, we hold an Open House for local families who would like to meet the litter in person. For our out-of-town families, we are happy to arrange a video call—the next best thing to being here!
5. Pick Your Pup
Families select their puppies in reservation order.
Our puppy-raising curriculum is very hands-on and deliberate, using tried-and-true programs that help us learn about each puppy as they grow. By selection time, we have a good understanding of each puppy’s developing personality, temperament, and energy level.
Our experience with our lines has shown us that personality and temperament differences between males and females are generally slight. While it is natural to be drawn to a particular gender, both males and females make wonderful companions.
At approximately seven weeks of age, each puppy completes a temperament assessment and veterinary physical. The results, along with updated videos, are posted online for families to review before Selection Night.
We ask each family to review the information and identify three puppies they would be happy to bring home. Along with our trainer, we will share our observations and make recommendations based on what we have learned about you and each puppy.
Ultimately, when it is your turn to select, the final choice is yours.
Families select in reservation order, and the final $1,650 payment is due at seven weeks of age.

6. Bringing Your New Family Member Home
Your Lucky Dood will be ready to join your family between 8 and 9 weeks of age.
Once the puppies are born, we will establish the Gotcha Day window so you have plenty of time to make your travel plans.
If you are driving, we schedule individual pickup appointments at our home. If you are flying in to pick up your puppy, we can arrange to meet you at Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
If you prefer to have your puppy delivered, we are happy to refer you to trusted puppy travel services that we have had good experiences with.
And then comes the best part—bringing your Lucky Dood home!
