Adopt a Lucky Dood

Adoption Process

Pricing

Our Australian Labradoodles are $3500.

1. $500 upon approval/reservation list placement on litter

2. $1000 when specified litter is two weeks old

3. $2000 when you select your puppy at (7 1/2 weeks of age)

4. Go home between 8 and 9 weeks of age

1. Puppy Preferences Application

Please click on the button below to complete your preferences. We ask that you complete this even if you just have questions. It helps us to make suggestions for upcoming litters, and to be better able to answer your questions. Since we breed only standard multigenerational Australian Labradoodles, color, sex and delivery time  are the  biggest considerations.

Application

2. Application Approval

Once we receive your preference form, we schedule a time to speak, so that you can ask questions and be comfortable with our program. You will get a copy of our health guarantee and sales contract to review prior to proceeding. By spending time talking, we get a better idea of your lifestyle and preferences for a companion and any special considerations you have.

3. Reserve your puppy

Once your application and preferences have been approved, a non-refundable reservation installment of $500 is due. This reservation deposit will apply to the final purchase price of your puppy and is valid for two years from the date it is received.   You can place your reservation with our payment portal through Gooddog.com We reserve the right to cancel the reservation and refund your deposit if we feel that we are not a good match.

4. Pick your pup's parents

Once you have decided to reserve a Lucky Dood, you can specify which litter you would like to reserve. All of our planned litters and expected whelping dates will be on our website. We accept a limited number of reservations per litter, as well as a wait list. Since we only breed standard sized dogs, the choices of sex and color will be the only variable, along with timing on bringing your new puppy home. We announce confirmed pregnancies on our websites and social media. When the litter arrives, we notify those that have a placement reservation on that litter, and what pups will be available that will meet your preferences in that litter. If you opt for a pup from that litter, at two weeks of age, you will be asked to reserve with your first installment of $1000.  Breeder always reserves the right to retain two pups for Lucky Country Labradoodles.

5. Follow your pup's journey home

As a new member of the Lucky Dood family, we keep you updated with everything going on with your litter. You get updates and tips for preparing for your new family member on a weekly basis.  We also hold an open house for those local families that would like to come and see their pup in person. For out-of-town families, we will arrange a video call... the next best thing to being there!

6. Pick your pup

After veterinary physicals and litter assessments are complete at approximately 7 weeks of age, you select your pup. Our selection process is unique. We feel it is very important for families to be able select which pup they will welcome into their home after being able to review the testing we perform. You will be able to select from the pups that meet your preferences from your application. If you specify a female, then you will select from the available females. If you are not completely satisfied with the availability at selection day, you can defer to a later litter.  We want you to love that pup as much as he or she will love you, so if you would like to wait, we put your name back in the order of your reservation to defer to the next litter, and refund your installment, holding only your non-fundable reservation. You may defer a total of three times over a two year period. The remaining balance of $2000 is due when you select your pup. (You can place this through our GoodDog.com link.)  Again, Breeder always reserves the right to retain two pups for Lucky Country Labradoodles.

7. Bringing your new family member home

Your Lucky Dood will come home to you between 8-9 weeks of age. When they are born, we will set the gotcha day window so that you can make plans to bring them home. We schedule pick up appointments at our home if you are driving or will arrange to meet you at Raleigh Durham Airport if you fly to pick them up. If you are interested in a travel service to deliver your puppy, we would be happy to refer you to services that other breeders have had a good experience with.

LUCKY DOOD SWAG

We make sure to give your pet the best start by providing a swag bag filled with tools and supplies to make the transition as smooth as possible for them, and for you! Puppies come home with these items:

  1.  A snuggle blanket with the litter scents to help your pup transition to their new home.
  2.  A personalized puppy collar and a leash, provided by Lupine. This collar will last for a while, as your pup grows. The leash is a standard 6-foot leash- we find this best for training purposes. We chose this manufacturer because they are based in New Hampshire and have a fantastic replacement warranty.

  4.  A soft play toy
  5.  An all purpose chew for your pup
  6.  A multipurpose bag that is a great addition for training and walks

Giving Puppies their best start

All Lucky Country pups are born and raised in a home environment. What this means to you as a new puppy parent, is that by the time they are ready to come to your home they will be comfortable with sounds and activities that are everyday occurrences  in a typical household... Hairdryers, vacuum cleaners, televisions, music, children, door bells, etc. Great care is taken to make sure that every experience during their time with us is positive. Crate and potty training as well as a beginning with leash manners training will have started.  We also believe that puppies still learn from their elders, the adult dogs in the home. Mothers naturally will start to wean their puppies, and by around 6 weeks of age, they are not dependent on their mothers for nourishment at all. However, it is during this time that valuable discipline and interaction still goes on between the mother and the pup. We choose to keep mothers here for the entire 8-9 weeks that the pups are with us. We prefer to let the mother decide when her job is finished.

Puppies are placed at 8-9 weeks of age, and will come with the following:

1) Full age appropriate vaccines/ Following age guidelines set by the AVMA

2) Full examination from our veterinarian

3) Spay Neuter Contract through Spay Secure

5) A  Snuggle Puppy  and  a  Blanket/toy with litter mates scent

6) Thirty Day complimentary health insurance by Trupanion

7) Two year health guarantee for inherited disease that affects the quality of life of the dog.

8) Pedigree and papers to register pet with the Worldwide Australian Labradoodle Association after after fulfilling obligations through Spay Secure.

BREEDER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO RETAIN TWO PUPS FROM EACH LITTER FOR FURTHER EVALUATION
